In the course of his over 20 years of professional experience Linas advised on a number of notable transactions in the market including:

  • Full-scope legal advice to potential investor Discount Investment Corporation on acquisition and financing of Bitė, a mobile communication company in the Baltics with an approx. transaction value of 500 MEUR
  • Legal advice during the reorganization of the corporate structure of GeoNafta, the biggest oil company group in the Baltics
  • Legal advice to a consortium of four Nordic private equity funds on the tender sale of Snaigė, a blue-chip Lithuanian company, to a strategic investor
  • Legal advice to Stadtwerke Leipzig, a leading German utility company, on the acquisition and disposal of various district heating, CHP and energy companies
  • Legal advice to VNG Verbundnetz Gas, a leading German utility company, on the acquisition and disposal of various district heating, CHP and energy companies
  • Legal advice to Danpower, a leading German utility company, on acquisition of various district heating, CHP and energy companies

Linas Sabaliauskas is an arbitrator of the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration

According to Chambers & Partners, 2018, Linas is known for representing start-up companies in Lithuania. He is especially endorsed for his expertise in working with funds and other financial organisations. Linas also is noted for energy transactions and other corporate matters, with a focus on nuclear and renewable energy projects. He advises on offshore energy supply including regulation, supply agreements and procurement issues. He regularly advises German-speaking clients.

In 2014 Linas graduated from the Oxford University (Saïd Business School) and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy (with distinction). His thesis “A Case for Private Equity in the Baltics” was awarded with the Saïd Prize for the Best Project on Financial Strategy in 2014

In 2012 Linas graduated from the Private Equity and Venture Capital Programme at Harvard Business School in Boston, USA

In 2011 Linas graduated from the Oxford Private Equity Programme at the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford in Oxford, UK

He completed the post-graduate programme for lawyers at the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in 2001 in Bonn/Cologne, Germany

In 2000 Linas was granted a Master in Law degree at Vilnius University

In 1999 Linas studied at Åbo University in Turku/Åbo, Finland

Linas is fluent in Lithuanian, English, German and Russian
